"Adaptation and well-being, rethinking of urban development”

An international scientific conference was organised for the second time by the National University of Public Service to discuss topical questions of natural and social sciences in the context of resilience and adaptation to climate change especially in urban ecosystems due to the fact that as a result of the urbanisation we’re facing not only environmental and technical challenges but also social and economic problems. The majority of the solutions and answers will be originated from cities.

In the first part of the conference three famous professors presented the context between water, meteorological changes, urban development and social impacts. After the plenary meeting 7 different sections were organised regarding sustainable cities, urban water management, SDGs, food safety, urban ecosystems, economy and urban centres as hubs for deep drawdown.

The CFO and the Clim’Foot project were presented by Lorant Riesz from HOI. The presentation was divided into two major parts: one was about the reason why carbon footprinting is necessary for non ETS organisations and the other was about the method of CFO and the results of the project.
