How to choose emission factors?
The databases created during the project are following the same methodology.
In order to choose your emission factors, you have to take into account (in that order):
- the parameter used for the calculation of the EF: does the EF include all the activities you want?
- similarities with your geographical area: was the EF calculated in a situation similar and consistent with your own?
Each data set provides a data documentation to guaranty clear information to support the end user in the choice of dataset. In each data set there is a description of the process and the activity that includes technical, geographical descriptions and some general information. Indeed the documentation intends to support a transparent reporting, interpretation and review of data collection, data calculation, data quality and data reporting, as well as facilitating data exchange.
